Chelsea teenage signing Jimmy-Jay Morgan has been dealt a fitness blow.

The 17-year-old signed from Southampton last month, but has now suffered a setback in his development.

Per Gianluca Di Marzio, Morgan will be flying to the United States for surgery on an issue that was flagged in his medical with Chelsea.

He will go to Los Angeles for his surgery, which should keep him out for around three months.

Chelsea fans will be hoping that he can soon get back on the pitch and showcase his talent.

He would have been hoping for a first team chance in pre-season, but he now faces a race to be fit for the autumn.
