Chelsea set to complete deal for Nantes defender Papy Djilobodji

Chelsea are on the verge of completing a deal for Senegalese defender Papy Djilobodji, according to reports.

Barring any late deadline day fireworks, it appears the Premier League champions have missed out on Everton defender John Stones.

Jose Mourinho is keen to add to his defensive stocks prior to the start of the season, and Nantes centre-back Djilobodji could be the man.

The Daily Mail is reporting a cut price £3million move for Djilobodji is on the cards, although even cheaper for Mourinho is the option of recalling one of on-loan centre-halves Kenneth Omeruo, Andreas Christensen or Alex Davey.
