Chelsea's Mourinho rues missed penalty in Southampton draw

Jose Mourinho was once again critical of the referees after his Chelsea side were held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton on Sunday.

Diego Costa opened the scoring for the league-leading Blues at Stamford Bridge in the 11th minute before Dusan Tadic converted from the spot eight minutes later from a decision that irked Mourinho.

The Portuguese also felt Branislav Ivanovic deserved a spot-kick later in the contest which he felt drew comparisons to the last time the two sides met when Cesc Fabregas was denied a penalty in late December.

"I'm happy with the situation. I'm happy with the six-point lead, but I'm not happy with the result," Mourinho said.

"If you remember our two matches against Southampton: in one game, one penalty that is not a penalty and in another game a penalty that was not given. You are speaking about six points transformed into two points."

He added: "My opinion is not important. Important is Mr Mike Dean (the referee).

"His decision was a penalty and his decision was no penalty on Ivanovic."
