Chelsea’s Bristol City star Abraham fires England U21s brace

Tammy Abraham continued his golden goalscoring run with a double for the England U21 side on Tuesday.

The Chelsea striker, who has been in fine form for loan club Bristol City, marked his full U21 debut with a goal either side of the break as the Young Lions wrapped up their successful Euro2017 qualifying campaign with a 5-0 triumph over Bosnia-Herzegovina in Walsall.

Former Chelsea youngster John Swift, now with Reading, opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a lovely strike from range for his first U21s goal.

The lead was doubled less than five minutes later through Abraham who produced an acrobatic effort from close range to send home a Josh Onomah shot which had been parried into his path.

Early in the second half, Tottenham Hotspur talent Onomah made it 3-0 when he was able to fire home a brave header from Man of the Match Jack Grealish before Sunderland winger Duncan Watmore scored a goal he so thoroughly deserved when finishing a neat pass from Aston Villa ace Grealish.

Abraham then wrapped it up in the 68th minute when he raced onto a ball from Watmore which saw the talented 19-year-old deftly chip the onrushing Kenan Piric to take his scoring tally this season to 13 in 16 games, which includes eight goals in the Championship for the Robins.
