Chelsea have rejected an opening offer from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard.

The Daily Record says Chelsea have rejected Real Madrid's initial offer for Hazard - with the Blues holding out for a transfer fee of at least £85m.

Chelsea believe Real should smash their transfer record if they want to sign Hazard.

The Bernabeu outfit forked out a record £85.3m to sign Gareth Bale from Tottenham in 2013, and the Blues want their Spanish rivals to break the bank again.

That is despite the fact that Hazard will enter the last year of his contract this summer, with Chelsea regarding their star as one of Europe's brightest talents.
