Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann could not rule out the departure of centre-back Niklas Sule.

The German, who has been with Bayern since 2017, is in demand this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

Chelsea are closely watching Sule and may make a move to improve their options in central defence.

And Nagelsmann admits Sule was unhappy at Bayern last season.

"I think it's important to be completely transparent with the players," Nagelsmann said.

"The players also need to understand the club's perspective concerning the contractual situation.

"Niki's contract expires next year and his last season was not especially happy.

"But he also has everything that a world-class central defender needs and that shouldn't be forgotten."
