The Mirror says Chelsea are set to send fullback Sterling out on loan to Coventry.
The Sky Blues won the League Two play-off final last month to return to League One. Now boss Mark Robins is preparing for next term and wants wing-back Sterling on loan from Stamford Bridge.
Defender Sterling, 18, impressed last term with his speed on the flanks in the academy.
It saw first team boss Antonio Conte give Sterling two sub appearances against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup and Norwich in the FA Cup.
