Chelsea ready to go with Colwill for new season

Chelsea are ready to go with Levi Colwill for the new season.

TalkSPORT says Chelsea are ready to 'resist offers' from other clubs for the centre-back, who is higher up the pecking order at Stamford Bridge than he was expected to be.

The report says that clubs interested in both Colwill and Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who spent last season on loan with Southampton, 'expect' the players to remain with the Blues beyond the transfer window. If Chelsea fail to bring in any other defenders in the window, Colwill is expected to be behind the likes of Thiago Silva and new signing Kalidou Koulibaly in the pecking order.

The likes of Trevoh Chalobah, Ethan Ampadu and Malang Saar could also provide competition to the 19-year-old in the upcoming season as he aims to make an impact on Chelsea's first team. Reports earlier in the summer did claim that the centre-back would seek a move away from Stamford Bridge should he not feel that he would get much game time this season.
