Chelsea are preparing a €50 million bid for AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli.

Milan chief Adriano Galliani has admitted Chelsea made an attempt for Romagnoli over the summer.

Quotidiano Sportivo says Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is determined to bring Romagnoli to London as soon as he can.

The Blues will make another attempt to poach Romagnoli during the January transfer window, offering up to €50m.

Milan signed him from Roma last summer for €25m plus a 30 per cent cut of a future sale.
