Chelsea are reaching an agreement for Lyon fullback Malo Gusto.
Football.London says the 19-year-old agreed personal terms with the Blues earlier in the window, although there had been financial complications in the deal that halted the move from being agreed.
Those issues now look to have been resolved with Chelsea securing an agreement in principle worth £26.3million plus add-ons that will see Gusto sign for the Blues. Once the deal is completed, Gusto will then return to Lyon on loan for the remainder of the season.
Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon's club president, made quite the claim regarding Gusto on Thursday, insisting he would remain as a Lyon player until the end of June.
Manager Laurent Blanc then reiterated that stance on Gusto and Rayan Cherki, who has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
“The board has guaranteed to me that the players will stay until the end of the season," he said.
