Chelsea pushing to complete Havertz transfer by next week

Chelsea are making a push to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Blues are confident Havertz wants to make the switch to Stamford Bridge and will now begin negotiations with their German counterparts.

According to Sky Sports, transfer chief Marina Granovskaia wants to complete the deal before Leverkusen's Europa League clash with Rangers next week.

Havertz's representatives have been speaking with the West London club, whose qualification for the Champions League has only enhanced their chances of signing the 21-year-old.

The Bundesliga have sought to receive £90m for Havertz, but it is reported that a fee closer to £76m could get the deal done.

Chelsea will run virtually unopposed in their pursuit of Havertz, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid unable to fund such a move.
