Chelsea prioritising move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice

Chelsea are prioritising a move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

The Athletic reports Chelsea are set to move fo Rice, which could pave the way for Kurt Zouma to leave the club, according to reports.

Frank Lampard is keen on bringing in a defender in the transfer window after becoming frustrated at the number of errors made that have led to goals this season, which was on display again in their defeat to the Hammers on Wednesday evening.

Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge, but one of the names actually being discussed as a target is former Blues youngster Rice.

And despite having spent most of his senior West Ham career as a holding midfielder, Lampard will look to shift Rice back into his defence to add much-needed security.
