Chelsea are preparing a move for Bayern Munich star David Alaba.

The Mirror says Frank Lampard is eyeing an ambitious move to land £60million-rated Bayern Munich left-back Alaba this month.

Lampard has axed Marcos Alonso from the Blues' starting line-up since taking over from Maurizio Sarri in the summer.

Emerson Palmieri has failed to convince his manager he is the answer to the problem position in the opportunities he has been given.

And while Azpilicueta has performed well, he is not a natural in that spot.

Chelsea are keen to see if a deal for Alaba, regarded by some as the best left-back in the game, can be struck.
