Chelsea players urge Man City fullback Bridge to reverse England decision

Chelsea players are urging Manchester City defender Wayne Bridge to reverse his decision to quit England, it has been revealed.

The Mirror says Bridge declared he was not retiring from international football completely. He suggested he would be willing to return but only if John Terry was not playing.

Former England and Chelsea teammates bombarded Bridge with texts pleading with him to reconsider.

A source at Stamford Bridge said: "Bridge's pride is hurt, and he thinks Terry has got away with it as all the heat is now on Cole over his affairs.

"It's not just 90 minutes on the pitch with Terry that Bridge cannot bear.

"Being away with England is like boarding school. The lads are in each other's pockets all the time. They're together for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as team meetings.

"They sleep in the same corridor and all hang out in each-other's rooms, usually in Rio, Beckham or Terry's room to watch DVDs, play Xbox and even do online shopping. Now they've changed their BlackBerry messengers to 'What the hell, Bridge come on'."
