Chelsea players tore into Luiz after Newcastle defeat

Chelsea teammates turned on David Luiz in the aftermath of defeat at Newcastle United. The Daily Star says the Brazilian centre-back was heavily criticised by team-mates for his seemingly laid-back approach at Newcastle on Saturday.

And as a result he will not face Schalke in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

At Newcastle, Luiz pulled out of a challenge on Shola Ameobi.

Match of the Day pundit and former England skipper Alan Shearer called it a "cop-out of a tackle from a defender who doesn't want to get hurt".

Luiz was also dragged out of position for the Magpies' second goal, as he allowed Vurnon Anita to set up Loic Remy.
