Chelsea have opened talks with Lyon for Tanguy Ndombele.
OL are preparing to sell the France international midfielder, who is a target for Manchester United and Manchester City.
However, L'Equipe says Chelsea hope a 'creative' proposal will clinch a deal in their favour.
With Chelsea facing up to their two-window transfer ban being upheld, the Blues have made an offer to buy Ndombele now and allow him to remain with OL next season.
Such a deal would suit OL president Jean Michel Aulas, who not only would get the €50m-plus he is seeking, but also keep hold of the France international for another 12 months.
