Chelsea No2 Ray Wilkins rates Nicolas Anelka the best Premiership signing made in recent seasons.
Discussing the prospect of buying big in January, Wilkins said: "If we have to buy players to win the Premier League, we will do that. We want to win the Premier League this season. People say you don't get value in January.
"But we signed Nicolas Anelka last year and he's been the best buy for the last couple of seasons.
"We got ourselves a world-class footballer who was eligible to play in every competition and hopefully there are a couple of guys out there now in a similar situation.
"I don't believe that it would be a hard sell convincing players to sign for us and fill in while other players are away.
"In football you make decisions on what benefits you as a player.
"People know the situation here. You either come here, work hard and play or you don't sign."
