Chelsea no 2 Wilkins backs Terry after poor performance

Chelsea skipper John Terry has been backed by the club's assistant manager Ray Wilkins after a poor performance in the 2-1 loss to Everton on Wednesday night.

The sacked England captain was beaten by Toffees striker Louis Saha, who scored both goals for Everton, as his personal problems looked to have gotten the better of him.

But Wilkins says it was just a slight blip on the radar and was confident that Terry would bounce back in great fashion.

"I think you have got to give Louis Saha a bit of credit because he is a tough opponent to play against," he said.

"John got caught under the ball for the second one but that was probably thinking Saha might have been going over the top to win it.

"But John has been absolutely outstanding for us all season, so if it was a mistake from John I am sure it was just the slightest of blips."
