Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount says he's messaged teammate Jorginho after Italy's World Cup failure.

Italy have missed Qatar 2022 after defeat to North Macedonia last week.

England international Mount said: "I won't make fun of Jorginho because Italy didn't qualify for the World Cup.

“It's hard for me to see him go through something like that. To get into the national team and achieve results with it, you need to do a lot of hard work. That is why failures are very disappointing.

"I wrote, 'Keep your chin up, you've had an amazing season and hopefully we can win some more together'."
