Chelsea midfielder Kante hails Tuchel: He came with great ideas, enthusiasm, tactics, experience

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante insists he's happy playing for new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Kante has found himself benched for several of Tuchel's first games in charge. But he spoke enthusiastically about his new manager in the aftermath of Sunday's 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

World Cup winner Kante told RMC via Le 10 Sport: "He came with great ideas, his enthusiasm, his tactics, his experience.

"He tried to bring everything he did in the past. It's going pretty well, we got back into the race for the Top 4."

Indeed, along with getting their top four campaign back on track, Kante says there's a renewed confidence regarding their Champions League prospects. Chelsea hold the advantage on round of 16 opponents Atletico Madrid courtesy of a first-leg victory.

Kante added: "In the Champions League we had a good first match. We are happy that he is here and we hope that it will go well."

Signficantly, the France international has played the full 90 for Chelsea in their last two games against Manchester United (0:0) and Southampton (1:1). He's also made the pitch in the last seven of Tuchel's reign.

Sunday's draw leaves Chelsea sitting in fifth-place on the Premier League table, a point behind fourth-place West Ham United.
