Chelsea midfielder Baker excited to play for Newton - and Trabzonspor fans

Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker is delighted with his move to Trabzonspor.

Baker has signed on a season-long loan and was immediately thrown into action by coach Eddie Newton, making his debut in the 0-0 draw with Denizlispor on Saturday.

At yesterday's signing ceremony, the former England U21 international said: “I would like to thank my manager, our president, the Chelsea club and everyone who contributed to the realisation of the deal.

"I am very happy to have the opportunity to come here. We have a young, enthusiastic and ambitious team. We will do our best and continue our success by building on last year. In my first game, I saw that we are a team open to many possibilities, I believe in this.

"I know about the many avid fans in Turkey and saw it.

"I am a player who will give 100% of my performance in each match and I believe that our team will be successful in this way."
