Chelsea matchwinner Mount: I challenged myself to get in box more

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount was delighted to prove their matchwinner at Fulham.

Mount struck the only goal of the game against ten man Fulham.

He later said, "It was a massive game for us, we know the run recently has been tough, we had to look at ourselves.

"It was good to get the win against Morecambe and today was a tough game. We had to wait until late in second half to get the goal, we had to dig deep as a team. We showed good character and got the win.

"We all knew we needed a win, we put that pressure on ourselves. We look at the quality in the changing room, we knew we need to win games.

"It has been difficult last couple of weeks, but we put pressure on ourselves to win against a good team who have been playing well."

He added "They had five at the back which is always difficult, you feel you get impatient at times, but tonight we stayed patient and played. We got better and better and nicked the goal."

On his goal, Mount said: "I found myself in the box which recently I haven't been doing. It is something I looked at and I managed to do that today. It fell to me and I probably should have had two."
