Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has hinted that he may give Ruben Loftus-Cheek a chance against Aston Villa in midweek.
The midfielder has been a peripheral figure for the Blues so far this season, after returning from a loan spell last term.
Asked if Loftus-Cheek would get a chance in the Carabao Cup against Villa on Wednesday, Tuchel suggested he would get game time, as he was trusted by the coaching staff.
Tuchel told reporters: "We gave him some minutes against Zenit [St. Petersburg].
"That was a close game, a Champions League opener for us and that wasn't a gift.
"I trust him because I see how he works and he adapts to his situation and what he makes out of it.
"He is very, very good on training. Tomorrow, there's a big chance he can show it on the pitch."
