Chelsea manager Lampard adds Rudiger to defensive clear-out

Chelsea are open to selling Antonio Rudiger, according to reports.

Frank Lampard wants to overhaul his defence but must first sell before he can buy.

The Blues have already splurged on attackers Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech this summer.

Reports in England have claimed Lampard is happy to part with defenders Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen and Emerson, as well as goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

And Sky Sports suggests Lampard has also added Rudiger to that list of dispensable players.

The news may come as a surprise to Blues fans as the Germany international started ten of the last 12 games of the season.

However, with his defence shipping in 54 goals in the Premier League season, Lampard may feel as though a total makeover is needed, and Rudiger's sale would recoup a decent fee to fund other transfers.
