Chelsea have made an opening offer for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.

TMW says Chelsea have formalised their interest with an opening bid for the young Italian.

The Blues have bid €36m for Rugani - and also tabled a contract offer to the defender's minders.

Rugani is being offered a deal worth €3.2m-a-year to 2023 to move to London.

The defender is a personal request of incoming Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, who worked with Rugani at Empoli.
