Chelsea make contact with Mourinho about return

Chelsea have sounded out Roma coach Jose Mourinho about a potential third stint with the club.

Mourinho has just over a year left on his contract at Roma and has put off talks about a new deal.

And Chelsea have made contact with the Special One as they cast a wide net in their search for a new permanent manager. Frank Lampard was hired yesterday to the end of the season after Sunday's dismissal of Graham Potter.

Relevo reports Mourinho has already received a phone call about taking the Stamford Bridge vacancy.

It's also claimed the Blues brass have reached out to Mourinho's countryman Nuno Espirito Santo about the job. Nuno is currently in charge of Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
