Chelsea looking at Sunderland beast Kone as Koulibaly contingency

Chelsea are believed to be casting an eye over Sunderland's Lamine Kone.

The Daily Mail reports that Antonio Conte could turn his attentions to the powerful Black Cats defender if he happens to miss out on Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.

While some reports suggest the Blues are confident of landing Koulibaly from the Italians, Conte wants in place a back-up plan if they fail, which appears to be 27-year-old French-born Ivorian Kone.

Everton are also keen on the beastly former Lorient man, who cost Sunderland around £5million in January this year, but were unsuccessful with an £18m bid this week.
