Former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise says Riyad Mahrez needs to show greater respect to Leicester City.

After missing a move to Manchester City, Mahrez has already missed two matches and Puel confirmed the Algeria international will not feature against the Premier League leaders when Leicester visit the Etihad on Saturday.

Wise, who played for Leicester in 2001, told Premier League Daily: "If I was the manager on the other side looking at the way Mahrez has reacted, I wouldn't bother with him.

"They gave him a chance at Leicester, I think he just has to respect that and I think the way he's gone about himself is not great.

"He's let himself down, his team-mates down, and the people at Leicester down"
