Baba Rahman is intent on making a positive impact at Schalke under the management of Markus Weinzierl.

The Ghanaian left-back has joined the Bundesliga club on a season-long loan from Chelsea and is looking forward to reuniting with former Augsburg boss Weinzierl at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

"I already know him from my time at FC Augsburg. We get along really well," he told Schalke's official website.

"I know that Markus Weinzierl has a lot of confidence in me, which is an important thing for any player.

"I obviously want to play a part with Schalke. My target is to give everything to help the team to be successful.

"I want to help the team and I am looking forward to the atmosphere at my first home game. I know what it's like in the VELTINS-Arena when Schalke play, as I've played there before with both Augsburg and Fürth."
