Chelsea keeper Schwarzer refreshed after summer off

Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer is ready to get stuck into preseason training.

Schwarzer had the entire summer off after retiring from Australia's national team.

"It's my first time in probably 15 years when I've actually had the whole summer off," Schwarzer told chelseafc.com.

"I've been able to go away and recharge the batteries, and enjoy some time off with the family. It's been nice to come back after a period of time off and get back in the swing of things.

"You want to play football and as much as I understand my position at the club I very much enjoy playing football as well. That's why we all train so hard and work so hard: to be ready to play a match when called upon."
