Chelsea invite Real Madrid to bid for Havertz as Ancelotti says: 'We need strikers'

Real Madrid are closing on a deal for Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz.

BILD says Real Madrid are moving for the Germany attacker - and Chelsea are open to a sale.

Havertz has a deal to 2025 at Chelsea and also approves the move.

Chelsea will seek to sell for €50-60m, with Havertz having joined in 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen for €80m.

Just yesterday, Real coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "It's apparent that today four forwards like Eden (Hazard), Mariano (Diaz), (Marco) Asensio and (Karim) Benzema are leaving. That's where we have to act and we're going to do so calmly. We have time to do it calmly. We're looking for a striker who can score goals and link up well with the others.

"At the moment we only have two forwards, but I'm not worried at all because we have all the time we need to sort it out. You win games with and without forwards. Forwards are more likely to score, but it makes a difference when a team plays solidly, compactly, with effort and as a team."
