Chelsea in limbo over Sarri decision

Chelsea board members are yet to make a decision regarding the future of Maurizio Sarri, according to Goal.

Although the Blues are hoping the transfer ban imposed by FIFA will be removed after the club appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, they have put a hold on any transfer market activity and contract renewal talks until the decision on their manager is made.

In his first season in charge, the Italian has secured Champions League football by finishing third in the Premier League and reached the Carabao Cup final.

He can still deliver a trophy though as Chelsea face London rivals Arsenal in the Europa League final at the end of the month.

However, there were quite a few bad patches along the way, including a humiliating 6-0 defeat to champions Man City in February and a number of fans would like to see Sarri sacked by club director Marina Granovskaia.
