Chelsea icon Hasselbaink fears Sturridge being squeezed out

Chelsea icon Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Danny Sturridge faces being squeezed out of Stamford Bridge.

The England Under-21 striker starred for Bolton Wanderers during a loan spell last term and is keen to establish himself as a regular at the Bridge.

But Hasselbaink admits the former Manchester City man may have to look elsewhere for first-team football.

He told The Sun: "Sturridge is in a very difficult position as he knows that new players are going to come in and they will be expensive signings.

"They will have to play because they will not be cheap, so he knows he will have to wait for his chance.

"Sometimes that might not come so he has to decide whether to go to a club where he's going to be the main person and make his name, or wait for his opportunity at Chelsea."
