Chelsea hero Melchiot: Sarri needs to play Kante in right role

Chelsea hero Mario Melchiot believes N'Golo Kante is still being played out of position.

He says Kante in holding midfield allows team-mates to excel around them, just like Manchester United star Paul Pogba did for France at the World Cup.

“Arguably one of the best midfielders is playing in a position that he's not really equipped to," Melchiot told the Daily Express.

“He's scored a couple of goals - yeah that's great - but why didn't you think the guy is going to feel like a fish out of water?

“Where do you think he's going to be comfortable?

"Sitting in front of the defence and breaking up the play.

“That's why he made a name for himself, that's why he came to Chelsea.

"That's why Leicester won the league and that's why he was arguably one of the guys who won the World Cup, in that position.

“He made Paul Pogba play the game we like him to play.

“So that's why I'm still sceptical over the position he plays and some of the formations he puts his team out in."
