Chelsea great Frank Lampard has backed his former manager Jose Mourinho to take charge at Manchester United in the summer.

The Portuguese manager, who was sacked by the Blues in December, has been strongly linked with United recently and Lampard feels he will be a good fit at Old Trafford if he steps in to replace Louis van Gaa=l.

Lampard told the Daily Mirror: "After Jose's experience at Chelsea and how it ended, I think he'd like to go to a club the size of United.

"They are not happy with where they are at. It's a good option for both United and Jose – a good fit."
