Chelsea great Lampard: I had to work on other aspects if my game just like West Ham hero Moore

Former Chelsea star Frank Lampard has revealed that he was inspired by the legendary Bobby Moore to work on the overall aspects of his game.

It is a well known fact that Lampard is one of the greatest midfielders of the modern era and is hailed as one of the legends of the Premier League.

However, Lampard was not the most naturally gifted of players and has now revealed that he took inspiration from England's World Cup winning captain and West Ham United hero Moore by working on other aspects of his game to make up for his deficiencies.

In an extract from next summer's film 'Bo66y Moore The Movie' which marks the 50th anniversary of England's World Cup triumph, Lampard said: "I probably suffered with some of the deficiencies that Bobby did.

"My dad was obsessed with pace – and my lack of it – and he would always say to me that Bobby wasn't the fastest player and he had to work on every other aspect of his game and, more than anything, his brain to become the player he did and Bobby was really the standard for me that my dad always tried to get me to stick to."
