Chelsea goal hero Schurrle: 'We never gave up'

Andre Schurrle felt Chelsea never gave up in their Champions League quarter-final second leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

The German forward came off the bench to replace Eden Hazard inside 20 minutes before netting the Blues' opening goal just after the half-hour mark at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Demba Ba scored a second goal in the 87th minute as Chelsea produced a 2-0 second leg win to progress to the semi-finals on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate prompting Schurrle to salute the manner of the inspiring victory.

"We needed to have patience, we hit the bar twice but we never gave up, that's what the team is about," he told Sky Sports.

"When you see on the clock there is five minutes to go and you need to score, you don't give up. You put everything you have in the game."
