Chelsea fullback Marcos Alonso admits he didn't have the patience to make it at Real Madrid.

The son of a Real legend, Alonso chose to leave for Bolton Wanderers early in his career.

He recalled to Marca: "What I lacked to settle in the first team of Real Madrid? Patience. I wanted to play every Sunday.

"Then Bolton's offer arrived and I did not hesitate.

"Real Madrid has been my home for a very long time, I do not forget it. I grew up there, I met a lot of people, I played with the first team ... It's something that will stay with me forever."
