Tiemoue Bakayoko has six to eight matches to salvage his disastrous loan spell at AC Milan.
The Chelsea midfielder joined Milan in the hopes of relaunching his career after a difficult debut season in west London.
Bakayoko has been kept to starts in the Europa League and four subsitute appearances in Serie A so far this season.
Earlier this week, manager Gennaro Gattuso admitted Bakayoko was struggling to adapt to the tactical side of the Italian game.
Milan have already paid Chelsea a loan fee of €5m for Bakayoko and have the option to make his loan deal permanent.
And according to Sport Witness, the club have given the former Monaco man six to eight games to change their minds about his future.
