Chelsea are believed to still be showing interest in Robin van Persie.
According to the Daily Express, the Blues see the Dutch striker as a possible contingency in case they happen to miss out on Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato.
It appears as though Pato will be joining Chelsea from Corinthians on a six-month loan with the view to a permanent deal this week but van Persie reportedly remains an option for the reigning Premier League champions.
Former Arsenal captain van Persie, 32, has been with Turkish club Fenerbahce since the summer following a three-year stint with Manchester United.
