Chelsea eye AC Milan keeper Diego Lopez as Begovic replacement

Chelsea are closing in on a deal for AC Milan's Diego Lopez, according to reports.

The Sun is of the belief that the West London club see Lopez, 34, as the perfect replacement for Asmir Begovic is he happens to leave Stamford Bridge.

Bosnia international Begovic is concerned about the amount of game time he will receive under Antonio Conte as he sits behind number one Thibaut Courtois, and fears he may only be used in the cups.

Bregovic, 29, has been loosely linked with Everton as well as a surprise return to Stoke City, and although those two moves seem unlikely, he is still keen to move away from Chelsea for regular game time.

If that occurs, Conte will bring in former Real Madrid, Sevilla and Villarreal gloveman Lopez as back-up for Courtois as a deal is believed to be in place.
