Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole insists he did not deliver a Wembley snub to England coach Fabio Capello yesterday.
The dejected Blues left-back appeared to cold shoulder the England manager as he trudged up to collect his losers' medal in the Community Shield.
But Cole, who had already slipped as he clambered up the 107 stairs to the Royal Box, was clearly not paying attention.
Chelsea officials were adamant Cole's snub was unintentional, says The Sun, especially as he is one of the few World Cup survivors to still be in Capello's squad to play Hungary on Wednesday.
