Chelsea demand Sassuola cash fee to write out Boga buy-back option

Chelsea are demanding a cash payment from Sassuolo to scrap the buy-back clause in Jeremie Boga's deal.

A number of clubs are said to be keen on signing the 23-year-old in the summer transfer window, including Napoli, Inter Milan and Tottenham, reports the Daily Express.

Chelsea have the opportunity to scupper these suitors' plans by exercising a €15m (£13.6m) buy-back option on their former player.

However, Calciomercato.com report that the Blues are prepared to waive their right to re-sign Boga if Sassuolo pay a fee.

The Italian outlet claim Chelsea want an €11.5m (£10.4m) payment to forego their option, following representatives from the two clubs meeting last month.

It is unclear whether Sassuolo have agreed to pay that fee, although they may be forced to meet the demand if they wish to avoid Chelsea reclaiming their ex-player and then selling him on for greater profit.
