Chelsea defender Thiago Silva supports PSG Pochettino appointment - and Tuchel sacking

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva supports the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as PSG coach.

Silva left PSG over the summer for the Blues.

He told RMC: "Mauricio Pochettino did a good job with Tottenham, I think he comes very motivated, 20 years after playing for PSG. He knows the club a bit. Of course that has changed a lot, but he knows football a lot, he will work with very high level players. I am still a supporter of PSG."

Silva also spoke of the sacking of Thomas Tuchel, who won the Ligue 1 title with PSG last season and also took the team to the Champions League final.

The veteran added: "It's difficult but it was predictable that this was going to happen. Not now, but being inside, we knew there were situations that had to be changed. In my opinion, Leonardo took the situation in hand, he made his choice.

"We do not know if it was good, it was not at all for Tuchel and his staff, especially after the match (4-0 defeat of Strasbourg). This change was not planned at this time."
