Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger is set to miss the start of the season.
The 26-year-old defender underwent knee surgery after he was forced off in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United in April.
The Telegraph says Rudiger's rehabilitation is going as well, but the German international insists he will not be rushing back ahead of schedule.
That could rule him out of the Blues opener back at Old Trafford on August 11 and the Super Cup against Liverpool three days later in Istanbul.
After his decision to rush back last term to help Chelsea secure Champions League football backfired, it is understandable he will not take any risks with his recovery this time around.
