Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger stepped into a clash between manager Maurizio Sarri and Kepa Arrizabalaga after their Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

Sarri was furious that his keeper disobeyed his orders to come off late on in exchange time.

He was still raging at the final whistle and Rudiger attempted to calm down the Italian before the penalty shootout.

German defender Rudiger attempted to play down the incident after the game.

"This is something the coach and the player have to speak about," he told Viasport.

"I cannot say much about it. I think, for sure, the coach and the goalkeeper will speak about it and everything will be fine."
