Chelsea defender Matt Miazga admits he did reconsider his international career.
The USA stopper is currently playing on-loan in Holland with Vitesse Arnhem and admits he has considered committing to Poland for his international future.
"I thought about that very seriously, but I eventually chose the USA because I had been through the entire youth program in that country. My goal has always been the American national team," said Miazga, whose second country will be present at the World Cup this summer.
"But it may be clear that I will cheer for Poland this summer. That's the country where most of my family comes from."
On Vitesse, he said: "Playing time is very important. I do not get that at Chelsea and if I were to be loaned to another club, I would have to settle there again. That's difficult, as I already know everyone here.
"In addition, I think we have a team that can challenge for the top here."
