Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne is delighted with his loan move to Wolves.

He said: "I think there were a few clubs interested, but as soon as I heard about Wolves, I knew it was the best option.

"I'm looking forward to trying to get some first-team football and to come to a club at the top of the Championship is great.

"I had a chat with Mick McCarthy yesterday afternoon and I'm looking forward to working for him. I've played against Wolves for QPR, while I also played for England under-21s at Molineux against Poland.

"The atmosphere was great that night and it looks a superb stadium to play in. I also know 'Kights', Sylvan and Richard from the England under-21 set-up.

"They're all good players, but there are a lot here."
