Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has revealed he came close to joining Arsenal.

Cahill left Bolton Wanderers for Chelsea five years ago.

"It was close," said Cahill. "It broke down on the fee, nothing to do with me.

"Chelsea came in after that and the rest is history.

Cahill, 31, joined from Bolton in January 2012 and within five months had won the Champions League and FA Cup. A year later, he added the Europa League. Then the League Cup and Premier League in 2015.
