Chelsea defender David Luiz was delighted with the manner of victory over Barcelona.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has demanded his players move the ball quickly and purposefully, and the benefits of that approach were seen in Tuesday's victory over the Spanish champions in Saitama.

"Both teams played very well," assessed David Luiz.

"I was happy with my team because we played with intensity, and with a lot of possession also. Against Barcelona it's always difficult to keep possession but we did it, and we could have scored more goals.

"It is a great moment of pre-season. We are still improving, we are still going in the right way, and these two games [in Japan] gave us a lot of things that will help us."
